MY 5 BUDGET FRIENDLY TRAVEL TIPS

 (MONEY SAVING SERIES PART-2)

A REVIEW OF MY PERSONAL TRAVEL BUDGET PLANS
AS MORE AND MORE PLACES HAVE LIFTED THE QUARANTINE CURBS AND PEOPLE HAVE STARTED TRAVELING, I HAVE REVIEWED MY OWN TRAVEL BUDGET.
AS COSTS OF ACCOMMODATION, TRAVEL AND FOOD HAS SKYROCKED, TWEAKING TRAVEL BUDGET HAS BECOME IMPERATIVE WITHOUT GIVING UP TRAVEL ALTOGETHER.
HERE, I HAVE DECIDED TO INCORPORATE THESE TIPS AS I MAKE MY FUTURE TRAVEL PLANS.
IS A TIGHT BUDGET KEEPING YOU FROM TRAVELING? FRET NOT, SIMPLE CHANGES IN PLANNING WILL ENSURE A SMOOTH AND FUN HOLIDAY.
5 TIPS TO ENSURE A BUDGET FRIENDLY VACATION.

1. EXPLORE YOUR OWN REGION:
Don’t want to deal with flight bookings and train tickets? Well, find out destinations that are just a couple of hours from your location. You will be surprised, how many options are available. Who says you have to travel abroad to have a great holiday?
Thoroughly research the location, stay and travel options. If you own a car, well and good. If not, car rental services can provide good deals on cars, vans or Tempo Travellers (if you are going as a group)

2. TAKE A WEEKEND TRIP.
Rather than take a 10 Day long trip, plan a weekend getaway.  A short 2 Day trip can refresh you and put a spring in your step.
Weekend trips are affordable, compared to long vacations. You can save on accommodation, food and sightseeing by shortening the trip duration. Explore the possibilities of stay in reasonably priced Home stays and AirBnB.
3. CITY TOUR.

Well, this is the best time to go hyperlocal. Explore your city! Find out about all hidden gems of your city. Local historical places, museums, old libraries, townhall, clocktower, old bakeries, eateries, flea markets, botanical gardens, art galleries, restaurants, gardens, parks and landmarks.
Use local transportation and eat local food. Explore the local flora and fauna.
4. TRAVEL OFF- SEASON.
Try to plan your vacation off season, if possible. This is not always possible as travel plans with family depend on school and college holidays. If you are not bound by a schedule, planning an off season vacation can save a ton of money. Hotels and flights offer excellent deals off season. Also the destination will not be crowded and you can maintain a safe distance away from crowded vacation locations.
5. WALKING TOURS.

This is a fun option. Find out if your city offers a WALKING TOUR.
You can explore tour options online, register for what day and date is suitable. Choose a tour of your interest. I have personally done a couple of Walking Historical Tours. They are fun and you get your money’s worth. The group tours are very vibrant as you get to meet and spend a few hours, exploring your city with like minded people having common interests.
You can explore various options like Culinary tours, Historical tours, Shopping tours, Bird Watching tours etc.

REVIEW YOUR TRAVEL BUDGET WITH THESE TIPS AND PLAN YOUR NEXT VACATION.
REMEMBER TO PRACTICE COVID APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR. MASK UP WHENEVER AND WHEREVER YOU TRAVEL. ALWAYS BE AN ENLIGHTENED TOURIST AND A WELL INFORMED CITIZEN.
