MY 5 SUPER EASY TIPS TO SAVE ON GROCERIES

    ( SAVE MONEY SERIES, PART-1)

IN THIS AGE OF HYPERINFLATION, FOOD PRICES ARE GOING OVER THE ROOF. PEOPLE ARE FEELING THE PINCH ALL OVER THE WORLD.

MAIN AIM IS TO TRAIN YOURSELF TO WORK EFFICIENTLY WITH SCARCE RESOURCES.

HERE ARE MY 5 SUPER EASY TIPS TO SAVE MONEY ON GROCERIES.

ANYBODY CAN INCORPORATE THEM, WITHOUT MAKING ANY DRASTIC CHANGES IN THEIR LIFESTYLE.

SAVE MONEY ON GROCERIES TO CONTROL YOUR FOOD BUDGET WITHOUT COMPROMISING ON NUTRITION.

1. EAT SEASONAL AND LOCAL.

Best way to save money and fulfill your nutritional needs is to buy local produce, fruits and vegetables.

Local fruits and vegetables are cheaper as they do not involve costly transportation and storage.

Moreover the local fruits and vegetables will always taste better.

2. USE UP ALL FOOD ITEMS AT HOME BEFORE RESTOCKING.

This is very important as you will be surprised how many food items are hidden in your pantry and refrigerator.

Completely empty your pantry and refrigerator.  Use you imagination to rustle up dishes using only the food items and spices available. Try DUMP MEALS. Spice up your food and consume every item before rushing to buy more. This will eliminate waste and save you a ton of money.

3. BULK BUYING IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD OPTION.

From my personal experience, purchasing food items in limited quantities has eliminated waste.

There was a time, I got carried away by the temptation to save money on bulk purchases. It turned out that half of them would go bad and land up in the dustbin. Now I buy in limited quantity and use each of them before they go bad.

So, use up all food items diligently, bulk buying or not.

4. MEAL PREP.

Needless to say, this one trick can make or break your budget.

Planning you meals will eliminate waste and keep food ready to eat whenever hunger pangs strike. This way you will not be tempted to order ready to eat meals. Ordering food can completely set you downhill as far as budget is concerned. It does not mean you never order Takeaways. Here, you can limit the number of times you order food. This way a healthy balance can be achieved as it’s impossible to stick to only home cooked foods in today’s age.

5. SHOP ONLINE FOR GOOD BARGAINS.
Online shopping apps like  Big Basket have become very popular. I have been using this  app for my GROCERIES.
Here, I must add that I also patronize my neighborhood KIRANA shop. Also I am a regular customer of my neighborhood Fruits and Vegetables vendor.
In my personal experience, this mix of neighborhood groceries shopping and striking very good deals on food items online has served me well.
The trick is to be vigilant and consistent with your shopping. Anybody can incorporate these tips without making any drastic changes in their lifestyle as they are doable.
This will definitely make all the difference in your monthly food budget as spending on food is our biggest expense.
